National Award-winning actor Dhanush, who made a smashing debut in Bollywood with Raanjhanaa, has signed another Hindi project. At the trailer launch of his first international film The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir, he said that the film will be announced soon.
When the actor was asked why he has been missing from the Bollywood scene, he said, “I was just probably waiting for the right script. I’m doing one soon, you will hear about it soon.”
Dhanush also revealed that he will collaborate again with Aanand L Rai, who directed his Bollywood debut. “Yes, I will be teaming up with Aanand L Rai sometime. I am doing a Hindi film and it will be announced soon,” he said.
The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir, is based on Romain Puértolas’s book, revolves around an Indian street magician’s journey to Paris where he finds himself in the middle of a crazy adventure.
Dhanush opened up about his experience shooting for The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir and said, “It was a great experience… I wanted to understand how things worked there, their take on filmmaking. I found this as a great opportunity to learn as much as possible. It was great meeting so many people from so many industries, different countries, cultures, food… It was fantastic and very fascinating.”
He confessed that he did not read the book that The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir was based on. “I didn’t read the book. I didn’t want to, till I finished the film. I finished the film and I still haven’t read the book. (laughs) I will do so, soon, but right now, I am held up with one of the toughest films I have ever done,” he said.
Directed by Ken Scott, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir will hit the theatres on June 21.
